Keep your computer safe: get a fuse

A fuse is a protective device that is designed to protect an electrical power system from the harmful effects of over-currents (currents higher than the normal operating current).

Fuses are sacrificial in that they are generally good for one time use and are destroyed in the process of operation if there is a surge. The use of fuses in a circuit provides cheap insurance should there be an accidental or unintentional fault in the system wiring or components.

To ensure the safety of your computer/laptop, make sure your plug or wall-socket has a fuse.
Meet an electrician or your technician to help you check this out and take proper measures.
Stay safe.
