HOW TO USE THE GLOBAL LIBRARY
A library is a place of information, a place of books where one can visit and source information related to his/her research.
I believe that the global library is the internet or rather, in this context, the global library is the internet.
I believe so, because all sorts of information can be gotten through the internet.
My aim is to give this tip that will lead to successful surfing of the internet that will deliver the result or a closer result of what the user wants.
How to surf the internet
1. Visit a search engine. E.g. www. google.com, www.ask.com, www.info.co, www.bing.com
2. Type in unique, specific keywords. E.g. "Blue Dolphins" instead of "What do blue dolphins look like". Make use of keywords or terms more than sentences in your search.
3. Use more specific keywords than general words to get closer results for your search. E.g. Caterpillar insect (assuming you are searching for a insect called caterpillar) or Caterpillar company (assuming you are searching for a company called caterpillar). Also, 'Raven' and 'The Raven' will return entirely different results.
4. Mind how you use suffixes. It is usually best to enter the base word so that you don't exclude relevant pages. For example, bird and not birds, walk and not walked. Except you are looking for sites that focus on the act of walking, then enter the whole term walking.
5. Use the plus sign to increase your field of search. Example. E.g tall + & short
6. Use the minus sign to indicate that you don't want to get results related to these terms. E.g Caterpillar -insect.
